This year on December 6, Santa Claus stopped by both Retro Lángos Budapest locations. He brought little gifts for our guests, the kids, and our team — and in return, some thanked him with poems, others with songs.
Festive cheer on Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road
At our Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road restaurant, a true holiday atmosphere welcomed Santa and his helper, the Christmas elf. The team greeted them with singing: “Jingle Bells” rang out, followed by a Spanish “Feliz Navidad” — and the staff even put on red Santa hats to make the celebration even more joyful for everyone passing by.
Christmas-warming vibes on Vécsey Street
At our Vécsey Street restaurant, Santa also welcomed guests and the team, surprising everyone with a small treat. The space was dressed in festive decorations, creating a cozy, heart warming mood — just the kind of place you’ll love arriving to after the December rush.

Santa didn’t only spread cheer inside our restaurants: he also took a little walk around the neighborhood to surprise children and tourists along the way. Some took photos with him, others received a tiny refreshment as a sweet surprise — and it was wonderful to see how many people stopped for a smile and a Santa selfie.
Santa’s favorite: the classic sour-cream and cheese lángos
Of course, Santa didn’t leave on an empty stomach either: he chose a classic cheese-and-sour-cream lángos — as he said, “it’s always been my favorite, and it brings back the best childhood memories.” When he sat down to enjoy it, a Spanish group joined him at the table, and within minutes a cheerful conversation started — Santa quickly became friends with them, and they even took photos together.
In the evening, Santa and his helper set off happily — and a little tired — since they still had a long journey ahead. But they left a few small surprises from the sack with us too, so in the coming days our team can keep putting big smiles on children’s faces. 🎄
