Practical Information
What are your opening hours?
We are open every day, so you can enjoy Budapest’s most famous Hungarian lángos in the heart of the city.
Monday to Sunday: 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM.
Due to terrace closing regulations, guests may not remain on the terrace after 10:00 PM.
Holiday opening hours:
We are open on all public holidays except December 24–25–26, when we are closed.
How do I get to you by public transport?
Both of our locations are easy to reach. Our Vécsey Street shop is just a few minutes’ walk from Kossuth Lajos Square metro station, right next to the Parliament. Our Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road shop is near Arany János Street metro station, next to St. Stephen’s Basilica.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes, there are several paid parking options within a short walking distance. We are also easy to reach by public transport. See parking information here.
Do you accept credit cards or SZÉP cards?
Yes, we accept all major debit and credit cards, as well as cash.
Does your staff speak English?
Yes, our staff speaks English to serve international guests smoothly. Our international team also includes speakers of Spanish, Portuguese, Romanian, Ukrainian, French, German, Italian, Hindi, Urdu, and Punjabi.
Is there Wi-Fi for guests?
Yes, free Wi-Fi is available at both locations.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, we are dog-friendly – we welcome dogs both indoors and on the terrace.
Do you have restrooms for guests?
Yes, restrooms are available for our guests.
Do you have facilities for wheelchair users?
Our Vécsey Street location has a step-free entrance for easy wheelchair access. Our Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road location has a small step at the entrance, but our staff will gladly assist you. Restrooms at both locations are currently not wheelchair-accessible.
Is there a waiting time during peak hours?
Yes, due to high demand, there may be a short wait during peak hours – but our fresh, crispy lángos is worth it every time.

What types of lángos do you offer?
Classic garlic, sour cream & cheese, bacon, ham, sausage, plus seasonal specialties and vegan options. See our full menu here.
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan lángos?
Yes! We prepare delicious vegetarian and vegan lángos fresh every day using high-quality ingredients.
Do you have gluten-free lángos? Is it safe for people with celiac disease?
Yes! We offer gluten-free lángos made in a separate kitchen, in separate oil, with separate utensils, ensuring safety for guests with celiac disease. We take special care to avoid cross-contamination.
Can you accommodate food allergies?
Yes. Please let our staff know if you have any allergies. We offer gluten-free, lactose-free, vegan, vegetarian, meat-free, pork-free, dairy-free, soy-free, nut-free, and other allergen-free versions.
Do you offer takeaway?
Of course! All our lángos are available to-go – perfect for enjoying while sightseeing in Budapest.
Is lángos really a Hungarikum?
Yes – since 2023, lángos has been officially recognized as a Hungarikum. Retro Lángos Budapest is committed to preparing this Hungarian street food specialty in the most authentic and highest quality way possible.

Do you have indoor seating and a terrace?
Yes, we have indoor seating and a cozy terrace. We also welcome groups, families, friends, and corporate events (up to 30 guests).
Are you close to major tourist attractions?
Yes! We’re just a few minutes’ walk from the Parliament, the Danube riverside, and St. Stephen’s Basilica – the perfect foodie stop during your sightseeing.

Can groups make a reservation?
Yes, we can serve groups of up to 30–40 people at our Vécsey street location.
Do you have seasonal specials?
Yes, each season we create special lángos toppings – refreshing combinations in summer, and warming flavors in winter.
Can I buy a gift card?
Yes, our 5000 HUF gift cards make a great surprise for any lángos lover.
Do you have a kids’ corner?
We don’t have a dedicated play area, but we welcome families in a child-friendly environment. At our Vécsey Street location, we have a baby-mother room and toys for kids, plus a retro arcade machine for older children.
Do you have baby changing facilities?
Yes! At our Vécsey Street location, we have a dedicated baby changing room. At our Bajcsy-Zsilinszky Road location, we currently don’t have one, but we provide baby food and milk warmers.
