So, we had an idea – and since we genetically love lángos – we preserved the authentic Hungarian flavors while giving our recipe a twist. Redefining toppings and flavor combinations, we’ve created a modern, hip lángos spot right in the heart of Budapest.

Introduction
In 2011, Ádám founded Retro Lángos with his uncle at Podmaniczky Square, Arany János utca metro station, pioneering downtown lángos culture and making it an iconic part of the Budapest experience. They introduced the concept of lángos with many extra toppings, available day and night in Budapest. Ádám first learned the craft of making lángos at Lake Balaton when he was 14 years old and immediately felt a calling for this profession.

Ádám’s cousin, Krisztián, joined in 2016, and together they successfully established the Arany János Street location. This turned into a true family business, involving relatives and gaining recognition in Budapest’s culinary scene.

Dani joined the company in 2017, launching the summer garden version of Retro Lángos at Eiffel Square. Proudly carrying on the family legacy, Dani’s grandparents and parents were also lángos makers, and he continues this long tradition. He is an advocate for gluten-free options, ensuring that Retro Lángos offers choices for those with gluten intolerance. Being celiac himself, Dani is very attentive to every detail of the gluten-free options, ensuring that Retro Lángos offers safe and delicious choices for those with gluten intolerance.
